Annexation Hearing – October 1, 2009

October 1, 2009 at 6:30 p.m.

The Town Council of Centreville will hold a public hearing on October 1, 2009, at 6:30 p.m., in the first floor meeting room of the Goodwill Fire Company, 212 Broadway, Centreville, Maryland, pursuant to the provisions of Md. Code Ann., Article 23A, ยง19, regarding the petition by Peter G. Sheaffer and the Queen Anne’s County Historical Society to change the corporate boundaries of the Town of Centreville by annexing a parcel of land owned by Peter G. Sheaffer consisting of 1.442 acres, more or less, that is contiguous with the boundary of the Town. The property is described as follows:

Beginning for the same at a point, said point being the northerly most corner of the herein described land, said point bears South 70 degrees 08 minutes 00 seconds West 1631.42 feet from an easterly corner of the corporate limits of the Town of Centreville; and from said Place of Beginning running (1) South 65 degrees 37 minutes 51 seconds East 211.41 feet, thence (2) South 22 degrees 32 minutes 12 seconds West 215.75 feet, thence (3) North 67 degrees 27 minutes 48 seconds West 30.91 feet to the land of Board of Education for Queen Anne’s County (Liber N.B.W. 4 Folio 490), thence by and with the said Board of Education for Queen Anne’s County land the following five courses and distances (4) North 65 degrees 37 minutes 51 seconds West 171.80 feet, thence (6) North 70 degrees 22 minutes 09 seconds West 87.80 feet, thence (7) North 01 degrees 54 minutes 09 seconds West 93.66 feet, thence (8) North 60 degrees 32 minutes 14 seconds East 70.24 feet, thence (9) North 24 degrees 22 minutes 09 seconds East 13.19 feet to the existing Corporate Limit of the Town of Centreville, thence by and with the said Existing Corporate Limit of The Town of Centreville (10) North 70 degrees 08 minutes 00 seconds East 100.34 feet to the Place of Beginning, containing 1.442 Acres of Land, more or less.

At the public hearing, all parties of interest and citizens will have an opportunity to be heard. Special accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made upon request.
